Il pu en d\u00e9terminer la distance : elles \u00e9taient bien trop lointaines pour faire partie de notre Voie lact\u00e9e.<\/p><p>Cette id\u00e9e d&rsquo;objets existants haut-del\u00e0 de notre voie lact\u00e9e, qui plus est d&rsquo;autres galaxies, \u00e9voluant \u00e0 des distances colossales, bouscula profond\u00e9ment notre vision du cosmos ; notre belle voie lact\u00e9e n&rsquo;est au final qu&rsquo;un grain de sable dans l&rsquo;univers parmi les milliards d\u2019autres galaxies qui le compose, elles-m\u00eames contenant des milliards d&rsquo;\u00e9toiles&#8230;<\/p><p>Bien qu&rsquo;elle soit la plus proche voisine de notre galaxie, elle figure tout de m\u00eame \u00e0 pas moins de 2,54 millions d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es lumi\u00e8res de nous ; ce qui signifie qu&rsquo;en regardants cette photo nous observons en fait la galaxie d&rsquo;Androm\u00e8de comme elle \u00e9tait il y a 2,54 millions d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es&#8230;<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous avons trouv\u00e9 la machine \u00e0 remonter le temps !
